Mitchell is an honours student looking to complete his Bachelor of Advanced Science majoring in physics in 2022. He has had a long-term interest in the potentials of quantum computing and opportunities to work with superconducting devices during his capstone course and summer research projects with Dr. Peter Jacobson have consolidated his interest. His honours project is to investigate ways to protect superconducting qubits from quasiparticle bursts generated by cosmic rays under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Arkady Fedorov.
